Chamber music in the heart of Tuscany

Music Adventure Chamber Music for Young Artists

The dates for the summer 2025 program are July 28-August 11 (travel July 27).

Music Adventure is an intensive chamber music program for motivated high school students set in the heart of Tuscany, the birthplace of the Renaissance. In residence at  Tenuta di Spannocchia, nurtured and nourished by the caring faculty and Spannocchia staff, students are introduced to the culture, history, and cuisine of the region. Immersive chamber music sessions, individual practice, private lessons, string orchestra, master classes, and concerts are mixed with travel, sightseeing, hikes, Italian language classes, and time to relax and socialize. Students work in depth to strengthen their musical skills and prepare pieces for performances for international audiences at Tenuta di Spannocchia and historic venues in nearby Tuscan towns. Each student participates in at least two different groups and string players perform side-by-side with faculty in chamber orchestra sans baton.

Students Share Their Experiences

“Music Adventure was a unique experience simply unlike anything I have ever or will ever experience. It was an immersion into music that helped to define me as a player. I was in constant contact with my teacher and peers who encouraged me to do my best in an area of the world that holds musicianship above almost anything else. I was given experience playing in an orchestral setting, in small ensembles, as well as one-on-one instruction on solo pieces. I made friends of all ages from all different backgrounds and saw places that were breathtakingly beautiful. The Music Adventure Tour is no doubt the one catalyst that made me want to devote myself to making music.”
